"IF I SHOULD HAVE A DAUGHTER"

THE TASK

The final project for Digital Studio, use animated type to animate a 30-second portion of a speech or song that inspires you using After Effects.

THE GOAL

Create a style inspired by the message of the audio.
Accentuate the natural rhythm of the audio.
Avoid predictability and repetition.

THE RESULT

A cute animation that captures the feel of the poem, "If I Should Have a Daughter by Sarah Kay. The animation seamlessly integrates analog and digital media with hand-lettered and watercolor elements. It imagines the poem as a letter from mother to future daughter.
